Presentation Guidelines

All presentations are to be conducted/presented in ENGLISH.

Important Note:

ONLY REGISTERED AND PRESENTED ORAL PAPERS AND SELECTED POSTER* PAPERS WILL BE INDEXED BY IEEE XPLORE
(* Poster papers will be reviewed and selected during the poster sessions at the conference)

Oral Presentations

  1. Please note that the time allocated to each presentation is 15 minutes for ORAL presentations and 20 minutes for INVITED presentations (inclusive of Question & Answer).
  2. PowerPoint slides or Acrobat PDF for presentation on a LCD video projector are recommended.
  3. All the presentation rooms will be equipped with the following items:
    • A computer running WINDOWS XP Professional operating system, with MS Office, Acrobat Reader 6.0.
    • A LCD video projector
  4. We recommend that presenters bring their presentation files in a format compatible with one of the above applications, with the files stored in a CD-ROM or a USB thumb drive (flash disk).
  5. Presenters with session in the morning are requested to upload their presentation files no later than 17:30hrs nin the afternoon of the previous day. For presentation in the afternoon, files must be uploaded no later than 12:00 hrs in the morning of the same day.
  6. There will be an assistant in the room to help you with the uploading

Poster Presentations

  1. The maximum display area of the poster panel is: 0.85 m wide and 1.20 m high. This allows for posters of up to A0 format (841 mm x 1189 mm, upright format, portrait).
  2. There must be a header indicating the title and the author(s) name(s).
  3. Advertising material ARE NOT allowed but business cards are acceptable.
  4. Each poster will be provided a poster number as indicated in the Programme & Abstract Booklet.
  5. The same poster number will appear on the poster panel, which has been reserved for your poster presentation. A good visual presentation concentrates on the outstanding features of a project, easily grasped by the viewer, with a minimum of text (less than 50% of the total poster area).
  6. All text should be readable at a distance of approx.2 m (use letters at least 10 mm high). Self-adhesive Velcro tape and/or pins will be available to attach your poster on the textile-covered poster panels.
  7. All posters to be set up by 12:30 hrs on their respective presentation day and dismantled by 21:30 hrs on the same day.
