Topic 2. Nanowires and Nanotubes

Session Chairs:

Nanowires and Nanotubes are emerging one-dimensional nanomaterials that have show great potential in mechanical, electrical, photonic and biological applications. They are capable of showing quantum effect and with a possibility of being easily manipulated. This session of nanowires and nanotubes covers a wide range of syntheses, devices construction, applications of nanowires, nanotubes, and other quasi-one-dimensional nanostructures and low dimensional nanomaterials. The topic includes, but not limited to the followings:

  1. Synthesis, ordered growth, growth mechanism and devices
  2. Patterning/alignment of nanowires and nanotubes
  3. Mechanical applications of nanowires and nanotubes
  4. Nanoelectronics based on nanowires and nanotubes
  5. Nanophotonics based on nanowire and nanotubes
  6. Gas, chemical and biochemical sensing based on nanowires and nanotubes
