Topic 3. Nanomagnetics and Spintronics

Session Chair:

Nanomagnetics plays a very important role in today's advanced magnetic materials. Nanostructured magnetic materials are intensively investigated because of their unique magnetic, electronic and optic properties. The successful application of MR , GMR and TMR sensor in magnetic recording head has pushed the further development of spinelectronics. The topics include but not limited to the following:

  1. Magnetic thin films and nanostructures in magnetic recording
  2. Diluted magnetic semicondouctors
  3. Magnetoresistance, Giant magnetoresistance and Tunneling magnetoresistance materials and device
  4. Magneto-electronic, magneto-optic and magneto-mechanical properties of nanostructured magnetic materials
  5. Nanomagnets with high energy products
  6. Nanomagnets in soft-magnetic and microwave applications
  7. Nanostructured Magnetic materials for bio-medical applications
  8. Synthesis, characterization and applications of magnetic nanoparticles
  9. Domain structure and magnetization reversal mechanisms of magnetic nanostructures
  10. Modeling/simulation of magnetic nanostructures
